Mike Sweeney
VP of Technology

As Vice President of Technology for Consult A Doctor, Mike Sweeney leads all application development projects and oversees the IT project management of business applications. He also directs the development and implementation of software products, acts as the liaison for both on and off-shore IT development projects, manages strategic IT initiatives and is the head of the engineering department.

A healthcare IT veteran with over 40 years of related experience, Mr. Sweeney’s background includes experience in developing, integrating and implementing healthcare networking and medical records systems and complex systems analysis.

Prior to joining Consult A Doctor, Mr. Sweeney had a number of senior analysis and developer roles in the healthcare industry. He was a member of a Virginia regional healthcare network implementation and integration team, a joint venture between The University of Virginia Medical Center and Eclipsys Corporation. Mr. Sweeney also served as an analysis team member charged with documenting the clinical workflow processes of Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. With the Cleveland Clinic Florida Cardiology Group, Mr. Sweeney was the sole developer of a clinical medical records system that successfully managed information for over 15,000 lives for over 8 years on a 24/7 basis.

Mr. Sweeny also has over 10 years of experience as chief architect and principal for investment and financial systems including Spectrum Investment Systems and Spectra Investment Systems FSS, Access Telecom and Sharpe Trading Systems. Mr. Sweeney also founded and was CEO of Sweeney Computing Corporation, a Chicago-based service and integration firm offering software development services, consulting and business data processing services to various industries.
